Mount started both of United’s league games this season and showed the Old Trafford fans what he can do if he stays fit. The 25-year-old, who was substituted at halftime in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, says he sustained the injury during the match.

Man Utd spent over £55 million ($72.48 million) to acquire the services of Mount in July 2023, the former Chelsea star only made 20 appearances the previous season because of several injuries.

“During the last game, I picked up a minor muscle issue,” Man Utd star, Mount wrote. “I’ve had it checked, and it looks like I’ll be out for a few games.”

Mount suffered a hamstring injury last season in August. In November, he was sidelined again for four months with a calf injury, after which he made eight more appearances.

“Leading up to and during pre-season, I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be, and I felt re-energized, sharp, and ready,” the former Chelsea Man added. “I wanted you to hear directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too. I will do everything possible to return in the best shape and help the team.”

The England international missed the just concluded 2024 Euros and is not included in interim manager Lee Carsley’s squad, who will play against Ireland in Dublin on September 7 and host Finland at Wembley in the Nations League three days later.
