“It was an easy decision to join West Ham,” Wan-Bissaka said about his move. “I’m excited and happy to be here. “It’s an amazing feeling to return to London. I was born here, so I know the city well, which is important to me.

Playing in this city again means a lot. “I’m grateful for the warm welcome and eager to give my best for the club.”

Tim Steidten who is West Ham’s technical director poured out his satisfaction with the signing. “I’m delighted we secured Aaron,” Steidten said. “He’s the kind of player we want at this club during the prime years of his career.

“He’s a highly talented defender, excellent in one-on-one situations, and versatile, which is a big plus. With over 170 Premier League games, he knows the league well.”

A source told ESPN that Wan-Bissaka’s exit from United will likely lead to the arrival of Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich. United has agreed to a deal in principle to sign the pair for a combined £60 million ($76.7m), including add-ons.

Wan-Bissaka was left out of the United squad for Saturday’s Community Shield loss to Manchester City at Wembley. United values Wan-Bissaka, who also attracted interest from Galatasaray, at £15-20 million.

Aaron Wan Bissaka joined Manchester United in 2019 from Crystal Palace. He recorded some good moments with the Manchester club, like playing in four major finals, while contributing outstandingly as Manchester United triumphed in the 2023 EFL Cup and 2024 FA Cup. Also, across five seasons at Old Trafford, Wan Bissaka made 190 appearances in all competitions.

Before he signed for West Ham, the defender was dubbed one of the best tacklers in the league and is expected to maintain this status as he continues his career in his new club.
